The philosophy of Peace Christian Preschool is described in our motto,
"To play, to learn, to grow in the love of Jesus Christ." Peace Christian
Preschool provides supervised learning, play, and social opportunities with a
Christian emphasis, for pre-kindergarten children. As a developmental preschool,
we recognize that children share common characteristics as they grow physically,
intellectually, socially and spiritually. Each child is unique, expressing these
characteristics on an individual time schedule. Our structure and activities
respect this diversity. Activities, while teacher-planned, are child-initiated
and demonstrate our belief that preschool children learn best through play.
Preschool includes a mixture of large-group, small-group and individual activities,
as well as vigorous and quiet activities, indoors and outdoors. Our curriculum
includes daily devotions, language arts, social experiences, color awareness,
number recognition, reading readiness, and arts and crafts, balanced by a variety of play activities. |
The school is non-denominational and is covered by insurance required by Virginia law. Commonwealth law also requires written parental permission for children to attend the school. All three- and four-year-old children are welcome, regardless of gender, race, creed, color or national origin. Children must be three years old by December 31 of the year for which they are enrolling. Children who turn three between January 1 and April 30 of the school year may enroll on January 1, if space is available. Children registering for the 5 day program for the 2009-2010 school year must turn four years old by September 30, 2009. Enrollment is limited to sixteen children per class. Children must be potty trained. Policy for Peace Christian Preschool is established by a five-person Board of Directors who serve voluntarily. In addition to proper immunization, the Commonwealth of Virginia requires parents to
provide a certified birth certificate and information stating which school(s) and/or
daycare(s), if any, children have attended previously. |

Our teachers are required to have college degrees and have extensive experience with children. Additional classroom support is provided by adult teaching assistants. In addition, our staff is required to be certified annually by a practicing physician,
to be free from any disability which would prevent them from caring for children. Our
staff, principal, secretary, substitute teachers, and Board of Directors have passed
background checks by the Virginia State Police. |
We are in our new facility for the 2007/08 school year! Peace Christian Preschool currently meets in Educational Wing of Peace Lutheran Church, located at 5590 Kings Highway in King George, VA. A small snack, such as cookies and fruit juice, is served to the children each day.
Dairy products may be served. These snacks are supplied by the children's families,
in turn, on a voluntary basis. Please note that we are a PEANUT-FREE facility, and ask that all snacks provided comply with this policy, to ensure the safety of all of our students.
