An email from Pastor Naumann
To: Members and Friends or Peace Lutheran Church
Once again we’ll not have the opportunity to worship together tomorrow.
Attached are the worship services and the bulletin insert with the prayer requests, and I’m pasting my sermon outline below.
Remember that the offerings are an important part of how we respond to God’s love in worship. Please include that in your service, and bring them with you next week!
Please be safe and God willing we’ll see all next Sunday.
Blessings!
Terry

UPDATE - The starting date for this has been postponed by one week. Beginning Wednesday, February 10 (new date), the sanctuary of Peace will be open for prayer from 6:30 to 8:00 AM. This is a community outreach effort by our Board of Mission & Evangelism and Board of Worship. A sign will be put out by the road inviting commuters and anyone else to stop in and make use of the quiet of our church for private prayer. Two people are needed each week to make sure the facility is open and ready for those who wish to stop in and talk to the Lord. If you would like to help provide this service, please contact Dwight Collins (Phone: 775-9165) or Jeannette Perry (Email: perry_jeannette@yahoo.com). We also like for you to spread the word about this special prayer ministry into our community. |

After the study of God’s Word and prayer, and after listening to the input of our members, the Board of Worship in consultation with the pastor decided to begin offering Holy Communion every Sunday at both services. The majority of the board felt that, since Christ offers this special gift of His Body and Blood for the forgiveness of sins and the strengthening of faith, the mission and ministry of the congregation would benefit from weekly Communion, as worshipers grow in their faith. The Board was also guided by a resolution of the LCMS 1995 convention, which encouraged congregations to offer the Lord’s Supper every Sunday. Information about the convention resolution can be found by clicking here. Please check with Pastor Naumann if you want more information about this resolution. |
